Your Host and Founder of Mainstream Reiki®
I'm a regular person, like most people—you might say mainstream. I love science, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics, and continue to be intrigued with the world and how things work.
I took my first Reiki class in 1995 after hearing fascinating stories about Reiki. Then while on a trip to Egypt in 1999, my next steps became clear. I returned home and completed my Reiki training through the Master level for the first time. I practiced with family and friends and especially liked offering distance Reiki which I found very meditative.
After receiving correct information that seemed to just appear in my mind while offering Reiki to others, I became extremely curious about what was happening. This led me to explore other modalities including self-hypnosis, ESP, aura reading, mediumship, medical intuition, meditation, Chinese Energetic Medicine, Theta Healing, Integrated Energy Therapy, the Silva Method, channeling, and more.
In 2006, I began volunteering at my veterinarian's office giving Reiki to the animals. I soon discovered I could communicate with them which gave the sessions an entirely new depth and the results were amazing. I began my own professional practice within the veterinarian's office. As I saw more and more animals, their caregivers asked me about having sessions for themselves and if I would teach them Reiki. As a result, my practice grew to offer sessions for people and all levels of Reiki training.
Unfortunately, the time came for my family's relocation due to my husband's job. I found it difficult to leave my Reiki family of students and clients behind. It was very hard. The last thing I wanted to do was start all over and then possibly leave again if we weren’t going to stay. So I went back to practicing Reiki for myself and my family. I also used this time to further educate myself on spiritual and healing subjects by reading, taking classes, and volunteering in the Roswell Park Cancer Institute's Healing Touch program. In addition, I repeated all levels of Reiki classes with different teachers, including William Rand of the International Center for Reiki Training. I first completed Karuna® Master Training in 2013, Holy Fire® in 2015, and Holy Fire® II in 2016. I went on to Medical Reiki Master training in 2017 and repeated Karuna® Reiki ART/Master with William Rand in 2018 but with the upgraded Holy Fire® III energy, which is more powerful than the energy I previously worked with.
After moving to Michigan in 2015, I quickly decided I needed to offer Reiki again to help more people. I knew no one in the community when we arrived, and once we felt settled, I officially opened my practice the following year. One step at a time, I built Mainstream Reiki into a thriving professional Reiki business. I taught Reiki classes, offered free monthly Reiki Shares, and offered Reiki to dozens of people each month in my private office with its own waiting room in a medical and professional building.
Then, the pandemic began. Surprisingly, closing my office and going to distance Reiki and online teaching was the best turn of events for both me and Mainstream Reiki. In order to be a better teacher, I used some of my time during the pandemic to take even more Reiki training! It is important to me to keep up on my certifications so I may teach all levels of the latest versions of Holy Fire® World Peace Reiki as well as the ICRT Animal Reiki courses using the best practices and latest techniques to ensure the highest quality instruction for my students.
Today, I love teaching all my Reiki classes Live and Online. I am blessed to welcome students from all around the world who often find me through my popular Mainstream Reiki YouTube channel (over 94K subscribers), the BTRG podcast, which is ranked in the top 1.5% of all podcasts in the world, or from my Mainstream Reiki Membership Community, or social media.
